Brooklyn Org, together with over a dozen local nonprofits, is gearing up for the second annual Brooklyn Org Volunteer Day on April 26. This initiative encourages community engagement through various family-friendly volunteer tasks. Designed to celebrate National Volunteer Month, the event aims to become the largest volunteer effort in Brooklyn’s history, providing unique opportunities for residents of all ages. Activities will encompass everything from street cleanups to book sorting, featuring collaboration with various local organizations to promote community service.
"Brooklyn Org Volunteer Day represents an extraordinary opportunity to unite our borough through service," said Jocelynne Rainey, president and chief executive officer of Brooklyn Org.
Organizers hope the event will become the largest single day of volunteering in Brooklyn's history, inviting every Brooklynite and nonprofit to participate.
