"This defendant is accused of raping a woman who repeatedly told him to stop, and we will seek to hold him fully accountable. The statement also thanked the woman for cooperating with investigators and credited the NYPD for its investigation."
"Investigators say the alleged assault happened on September 28, 2025, after Morris and the woman had attended the same party in Brooklyn. The two had known each other for about two years and shared mutual friends. Morris and the woman later ended up alone in a vehicle, where he allegedly continued despite her telling him to stop."
A Brooklyn police officer, Daheem Morris, age 27, has been charged with third-degree rape, third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching, and sexual misconduct. The alleged assault occurred on September 28, 2025, after Morris and the victim attended the same party and knew each other for approximately two years. Prosecutors allege Morris continued sexual contact despite the woman repeatedly telling him to stop while they were alone in a vehicle. The victim reported the incident to a cousin the same day. The NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau investigated the complaint, and the Brooklyn District Attorney's Special Victims Bureau is prosecuting the case. Morris was released without bail and ordered to return to court on May 8, 2026.
