"He just basically put my brother in a fetal position and tied him up in a bag, in a bin, and threw him out and went on and didn't come back,"
"You just sit there and just throw them away, like they're garbage, like they're nothing. He was loved. My brother was loved."
"He didn't want to let people know that that's who he was dealing with - because had we known this was going on, or whatever happened, we would intervene and help my brother. My brother just always was a closed book."
A 33-year-old man, Darrell Montgomery, was found decomposed inside a trash bag in a large blue plastic bin near his Flatbush apartment. Construction workers discovered the body after noticing a foul odor around 9 a.m.; the remains appeared dismembered but were later determined to be complete. Police believe Montgomery likely died of natural causes. His boyfriend, Christopher Moss, was arrested and charged with concealing a corpse and also faces assault-on-an-officer and attempted robbery charges after head-butting an officer and trying to grab the officer's gun during arrest. The timing of death is unclear. The city Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy. Family members described Montgomery as secretive and expressed grief and shock over how the body was handled.
