The Brooklyn Democratic Party, led by Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, rescinded its endorsement of Governor Kathy Hochul after Hochul selected former City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams as running mate without consulting the party. The executive committee described the move as a response to a perceived snub for failing to inform or consult party members before the announcement. Bichotte Hermelyn and others said Adams, who represented Queens, was "bad for Brooklyn" during her tenure. The party did not endorse an alternative candidate. Several other Brooklyn Democrats publicly supported Hochul and Adams, including Andrew Gounardes, Letitia James, and Brian Cunningham.
