"Yesterday, ICE agents came and they were outside just waiting for everyone who was walking out of this building,"
"They took like six or seven members of our community, including ... Sebastian Renojo Barreno, who has been a leader of my church for over 18 years."

"doing every single thing right, and doing every single thing possible to follow the instructions, follow the law,"
Deacon Sebastian Renoj Barreno and several neighbors were arrested by federal immigration agents outside a Bay Parkway apartment building in Bensonhurst. Barreno is an immigrant and a longtime leader at Jovenes Cristianos. Local officials say Barreno has no criminal record and was detained on a technicality related to immigration status. Pastor Erick Salgado and Council Member Susan Zhuang helped arrange legal representation and a lawyer is preparing to file for due process. Less than 48 hours after the arrest, Barreno was moved to a detention facility in New Jersey. Zhuang reported heightened ICE activity across the district and cited recent similar cases.
