Artist Max Rosen is reviving his artistic career to support arts education in New York City's public schools. A benefit event on May 15 at Picto NY aims to raise $50,000 for Achievement First's arts programming, assisting primarily Black and Latino students. After a 40-year hiatus from art, Rosen emphasizes the importance of creativity for personal growth and healing. His collection, 'Defective Characters,' will play a central role in the event, where children will actively participate by presenting their work and singing.
Rosen expressed, "I hope that this gallery show allows each child in Achievement First to learn that their creativity can be a fantastic companion, and an incredibly effective tool for healing and growth."
Achievement First embodies a commitment to uplifting its primarily Black and Latino student population through creative and cultural enrichment opportunities, ensuring they thrive academically.
