The HOPE Program marked its 40th Anniversary with a gala on April 29, 2025, raising $880,000 to support its mission of helping marginalized New Yorkers gain meaningful careers in the green economy. The event honored significant contributions from founders and advocates, including Deborah Antoine, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Under Executive Director Tracey Capers, HOPE is launching a strategic plan to increase its impact in communities affected by climate change. HOPE has connected over 8,000 individuals to economic opportunities across New York's five boroughs, emphasizing careers in green infrastructure and horticulture.
"This milestone gala was a powerful reminder of what's possible when New York invests in its people and communities," said Capers.
"For 40 years, HOPE has opened pathways to new opportunities and stable careers for New Yorkers from marginalized communities, and we're just getting started."
