'Tormented with inconsiderate visitors': This new Waltham playground is so popular, it requires reservations
Briefly

The recent opening of a park in Waltham has led to an unexpected surge in visitors, causing significant overflow parking problems for local residents. City officials, including Councilor Bill Hanley, have noted numerous complaints about inconsiderate parking that has spilled into neighborhoods, prompting the implementation of required parking reservations during peak times. The park features a range of amenities, including a playground and mini golf, but has strained local infrastructure, leading to calls for long-term solutions to alleviate parking stress.
Since the park opened, many visitors have been using nearby on-street parking as overflow, which has created problems we didn't anticipate, with the ample parking on-site. I just spent an hour in the neighborhood and spoke to several people in person.
We've received numerous complaints about parking issues in the neighborhood and on the streets. We need a long-term solution.
Visitors are requested to stay for a maximum of two hours; parking reservations, which are made online, are also for two-hour time blocks.
I’m trying to be sensitive to the neighbors who have been tormented with inconsiderate visitors to the park.
