Tell us: Do you like the newly renovated Copley Square?
Briefly

The ongoing redevelopment of Copley Square Park, with a budget of $16.9 million, is causing discontent among locals, even before the project is complete. While parts of the park opened before the Boston Marathon, criticisms have emerged regarding the design, described by some as unattractive and lacking character. Mayor Michelle Wu aims to create a vibrant and inclusive space, but criticism continues, with detractors calling it "grey" and lacking soul. The project is set to be finished by late 2024, and invites community feedback on perceptions of the new design.
"Did we learn nothing from Government Center?" One Reddit user asked, saying the new park "sucks."
Mayor Michelle Wu responded to criticisms at an unrelated event, telling WCVB that "It will be a more vibrant, more walkable and more welcoming space for everyone."
"Copley Square is one of these places where it's the chance to bring everyone together... we wanted it to be everything it could be for all the different groups and people who love it so much," Wu said.
Josh Kraft, her opponent for mayor this year and the son of Patriots owner Robert Kraft, said it is "grey, soulless and looks like a skateboard park."
