Pro-Palestinian protestors shut down Mass. Ave. bridge on parade day
Briefly

On Sunday, a protest supporting Palestine shut down the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge in response to the detainment of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University student activist. Khalil, a permanent U.S. resident, faces deportation to Syria despite his activism against the Israel-Hamas conflict. The demonstration was organized by the Boston Coalition for Palestine and included chants and signs demanding justice for Khalil, alongside broader calls against U.S. involvement in the conflict. Other protests in support of Khalil have occurred at UMass Amherst and Harvard University.
The tradition of being a Palestinian refugee, of only knowing that his destiny in lifetime and time and time again is to fight for Palestine, so that one day he, amongst a sea of Palestinians, may return in a day of glory ... that is what we continue to fight for.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, the Sunday demonstration began in Copley Square, proceeded over the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge and ended in an area of Memorial Drive adjacent to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
