Man charged in North End indecent assault
Briefly

Cornelius Williams, 34, was arraigned on charges of indecent assault and battery and attempted rape after allegedly assaulting a woman in the North End. Prosecutors stated that he followed the victim into her apartment building and engaged in inappropriate behavior. Williams, who pleaded not guilty, was previously charged with similar offenses and had been released under conditions. His defense cited mental health issues and hallucinations at the time of the incident. He was ordered held without bail and will face a dangerousness hearing later this week.
Prosecutors allege that around 10:53 p.m. on May 14, Williams followed a woman into her apartment building in the area of Margaret Street, grabbed her legs, and started licking her toes.
Video footage from the area captured Williams following the woman several blocks to her building, the DA's office said.
