La Peste: I Don't Know Right From Wrong: Lost La Peste 1976-1979, Vol. 1
"La Peste became a fixture on the Boston music scene, where their influence exceeded their output. They earned their place in the tight-knit local music community with live shows remembered for their intensity."
"The original incarnation released just one 7" record, the 1978 single 'Better Off Dead,' with 'Black' on the B-side. Yet they had plenty more in reserve."
"These songs come from sessions scattered over two years, including tracks that a friend captured in 1977 on a reel-to-reel machine in La Peste's loft rehearsal space."
Peter Dayton, an art student, was inspired by the Ramones at CBGB in 1975, leading him to form the punk band La Peste in Boston. The band, consisting of Dayton, Mark Andreasson, and Roger Tripp, became a significant part of the local music scene despite only releasing one single. Their live performances were intense and fostered a strong connection with the audience. A collection of unreleased tracks, 'I Don't Know Right From Wrong: Lost La Peste 1976-1979,' showcases their music before Dayton's departure in 1980.
