'I just want justice for Barry' - Fears retrial may not go ahead over one-punch killing of Dubliner in Boston
Briefly

The trial of Sanusi Sadiq for the manslaughter of Barry Whelan ended in a mistrial after the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. Whelan, a carpenter from Dublin who had emigrated to the U.S. in 2002, was attacked on March 17 and never regained consciousness, passing days later in the hospital. His former boss, John Marsoobian, highlighted Whelan's character, noting he was respected, hardworking, and part of their family. Sadiq, a bouncer charged in the case, now faces uncertain legal outcomes following the mistrial.
Barry was a wonderful guy, he had a great sense of humour. Everyone loved working with him and a lot of people miss him.
We loved him. Like a lot of our employees, we considered him part of our family. He was one the most respectful, decent and hard-working men I've ever known.
