Red Sox 4, Orioles 3: Clutch is as clutch does
Briefly

After a prior loss to the Yankees, the Red Sox traveled to face the Orioles and won 4-3. The bullpen handled most innings with one standout exception. Offense produced key moments, including a leadoff home run and the eventual game-winning home run. A reliever surrendered a leadoff double in the eighth but then struck out the side to preserve the lead. One relief appearance proved to be the weak link in the bullpen strategy. Several hitters went 0-4 despite notable defensive contributions. The Whitlock strikeout sequence was notable but another sequence remained the clear top choice.
Fresh off a probably overdue (but sad) loss to the Yankees, the Sox trundled down I-95 to face the Orioles. They won, 4-3, in a tight game that was pretty much held down by the bullpen start, with one notable exception. The boys came through on offense, which is the best part. Giddyup. Led off with a home run. We tend to look kindly on that sort of thing.
Hit the game-winning home run. We tend to look kindly on that sort of thing. He gave up a leadoff double in the bottom of the eighth, and things looked bad. All he did after that was strike out the side on some big boy shit. That's what's up. Was the weak link in the bullpen game strategy. On the one hand, you expect someone will be. On the other, it still stinks.
