Rays To Promote Bob Seymour
Briefly

Bob Seymour, a 26-year-old first base prospect, is set for his MLB debut. The Rays will call him up from Triple-A Durham, where he has excelled with a .263/.327/.553 batting line and 30 home runs this season, leading the International League. Despite a history of high strikeout rates, he has improved significantly this year. However, he is not ranked among the top 30 prospects in Tampa's system. His performance in 2025 has earned him an opportunity at the major league level.
Seymour has hit .263/.327/.553 with 30 home runs over 443 PA at Triple-A this year, and his 30 homers lead the International League.
There was also a lot of swing-and-miss, though Seymour has significantly reduced his strikeout rate from 34.9% in 2024 to 25.7% over his 443 PA this season.
Despite all this power, neither MLB.com nor Baseball America list Seymour among the top 30 prospects in Tampa's farm system.
It's hard to argue that Seymour's big 2025 campaign hasn't earned him at least a look in the Show.
