Jon Heasley, a right-handed player, cleared waivers and was outrighted to the Tampa Bay Rays’ Triple-A affiliate. He cannot decline the outright assignment, so he will return to Durham. He will remain there while awaiting his next selection to the active roster. The move was reported shortly before the Rays’ official announcement.
