The Orioles acquired right-hander Eduarniel Núñez from the Athletics in exchange for cash. Núñez had previously been designated for assignment. After the trade, he was optioned to the Orioles’ Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk. The move required roster space on the 40-man roster. To create that space, the Orioles designated another right-handed reliever, Christian Roa, for assignment. The transaction was announced by both clubs, with additional updates expected afterward.
