Meet The New Guy: Jhostynxon "Password" Garcia
Briefly

Jhostynxon Garcia signed from Venezuela and rose through Portland and Worcester before a callup on August 21 as an offsetting move for Wilyer Abreu's IL placement. He has primarily played outfield but made his first appearance at first base for Triple-A Worcester while receiving first-base training. The organization views positional versatility as valuable, given lineup optimization needs and Jarren Duran's struggles versus lefties. Garcia is 6-foot, 163 pounds, and does not fit the traditional first-base build, so he is expected to play largely in the outfield as Abreu heals. The club plans to keep him on the roster into September.
He's Jhostynxon Garcia, known around the Red Sox fandom as "The Password." For the first month of this season, I had to pull up Fangraphs to look up the spelling of his name nearly every day as, in Portland, he was making headlines almost as often as Roman Anthony was in Worcester. Before long, the brass had seen enough and he was called up to Worcester, where he promptly tore the cover off the ball.
To optimize this lineup with a healthier Abreu, and to keep in mind Jarren Duran struggles against lefties, this may require Password to be a bit versatile in the field, regardless of how good of an idea it is NOT for a player still learning how to hit Major League pitching to also learn a new position defensively (see: Kristian Campbell, June.)
