"I think the Red Sox have another move in them, yes,"
"I'm not sure, even though they seem to match up with the Cubs, that there's anything in the cards there. Still think Isaac Paredes would fit, but Houston could instead move Christian Walker."
Pitchers and catchers report for spring training in less than two weeks. The Red Sox have been active this offseason but still need to add another infielder. There is anticipation of at least one more trade before the 2026 season, with Isaac Paredes and Christian Walker identified as possible fits. The team appears to be prioritizing defensive infield help over pure power. Paredes, 26, hit .254 with 20 homers, 53 RBIs and a .809 OPS in 102 games last season and retains two years of team control. Walker, 34, has hit at least 25 homers in each of the last four years but is primarily a first baseman.
