"For me, I would love to see Raffy finish his career as a Red Sox and have that smile on his face and hit 30 home runs for 20 years."
"Raffy is a great kid, man. He is. And he's a great player."
"This dude can hit, and he's always going to hit. He's going to have a, shoot, unbelievable career. In San Francisco, he's going to be great."
"Third base is my position. It's what I've played. I don't know what their plans are. I know we had a conversation. I made it clear, kind of what my desires were and whatever happens from here, I don't know."
Dustin Pedroia expressed a desire for Rafael Devers to finish his career with the Red Sox and praised Devers as a great player and hitter. Devers was traded to the San Francisco Giants in June, with eight years remaining on his contract. Tensions arose after the Red Sox signed Alex Bregman and moved Devers toward DH early in the 2025 season. Devers insisted third base is his position and resisted moving to first base after Triston Casas’s season-ending injury, criticizing the club’s leadership. Pedroia predicted Devers will have an unbelievable career and succeed in San Francisco.
