Nick Nastrini was sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City by the Dodgers after being claimed off waivers from the Marlins. This move creates an opening on Los Angeles’ 40-man roster. Nastrini was a fourth-round pick in 2021 and previously traded to the White Sox for Lance Lynn. He had nine big league appearances, recording a 7.07 ERA and struggling with control. After a brief stint in the Marlins' system, he has now rejoined the Dodgers and is expected to work on improving his performance in the minors.
Nastrini has had well below-average control throughout his pro career. The White Sox largely moved him to the bullpen in Triple-A this year. That didn't improve his results.
Nastrini made nine big league appearances (eight of them starts) but struggled to a 7.07 ERA across 35 2/3 innings. He recorded 28 strikeouts while issuing 36 walks.
