"As part of this phased transition, blade and razor manufacturing will move from South Boston to Andover beginning this year, along with hundreds of employees. The expanded, 200,000-square-foot Andover facility will support blade and razor production, packaging operations, shave-prep manufacturing, and direct-to-consumer fulfillment."
Procter & Gamble announced that Gillette's corporate headquarters will remain in South Boston with a $1 billion investment in a new building on neighboring 232 A Street. The company considered leasing space elsewhere but chose to construct a new facility adjacent to its existing campus. Manufacturing operations, including blade and razor production, will relocate to a 200,000-square-foot facility in Andover beginning this year, with hundreds of employees moving as part of the phased transition. Gillette has maintained operations in South Boston for over 100 years. The new headquarters will serve as a Grooming Headquarters and Technical Innovation Center, built on a site previously permitted for research and development use.
