The Philadelphia arena, formerly known as the Wells Fargo Center, will be renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena starting September 1, 2023, until the 2030-2031 season. This change follows Wells Fargo's decision not to renew its naming rights agreement with Comcast Spectacor, which had been in place since 2010. The arena has a rich history as it first opened in 1996 and has accommodated sports events featuring prominent athletes. In addition, the arena recently underwent a $400 million renovation and will see a subsequent new arena built by Comcast and the 76ers in 2031-2032.
The arena will be renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena, effective Sept. 1 and running through the 2030-2031 season.
Wells Fargo announced last year that it would not renew its deal with building owner Comcast Spectacor when it expires in August.
The arena, originally named CoreStates Center, opened in 1996 and has been the home to Philly sports stars.
Comcast Spectacor last year completed a $400 million renovation project of the Wells Fargo Center.
