What Baylor Scheierman said about his fractured thumb
"I just ran into him, he was running the other way. I thought he was just going to chase after the ball because I think it was up in the air and I think my thumb just kind of went into his chest. It just kind of hurt and I looked down and it just kind of felt weird and it just locked."
"We're kind of just evaluating it as it goes. But felt good enough to be out there so it's just how it's going to be. I'm not going to sit out."
Baylor Scheierman sustained a fractured thumb during a collision with Nets player Egor Demin on Friday night. The injury occurred when Demin ran into his thumb while both players were moving in opposite directions. Despite the fracture, Scheierman played in Sunday's game against the 76ers wearing a splint and hit a buzzer-beater in the first half. He continued playing Monday, recording 12 points on 5-for-12 shooting in 32 minutes. Scheierman previously broke the same thumb in high school. He stated the team is evaluating the injury as it progresses but felt capable enough to remain on the court rather than sit out.
