Payton Pritchard addresses his shooting woes as Celtics struggle as a whole
"Boston Celtics "I'll have a lot of good shooting days ahead so I'm not worried about that.""
""Doesn't bother me one bit," Pritchard stated when asked about his shooting woes Monday night after the game. "I know it's the type of player I am, so percentages will play out. We've got, I don't know how many more, 73 [more games]? I'll have a lot of good shooting days ahead so I'm not worried about that.""
""I've just missed some wide open ones that I usually hit," he continued post-game. "It's not like it's a defense doing something,"
The Celtics began the season 3-5 and lost to the Jazz while struggling from three-point range despite leading the league in three-point attempts. Boston set a season record with 1,457 threes last year and currently averages 47.8 attempts per game, but ranks second-worst in three-point percentage at 31.2. Jaylen Brown and Sam Hauser combined to go 1-for-17 in the recent loss, and Payton Pritchard and Derrick White are a combined 24% from deep on the year. Pritchard has moved into a larger starting role, has shot over 40% from long range three times in his career, and expressed confidence he will start making shots again based on the looks he is getting.
