"I just give a ton of credit to my high school principal. He had the balls to throw a student out. He didn't leave it to the hall monitor. He was a hell of a principal."
"I understand completely where Jaylen was coming from, absolutely. And I've got his back 100 percent. I think he was 100 percent right to be frustrated and do what he did."
During a Celtics-Spurs matchup, Jaylen Brown received two technical fouls in quick succession and was ejected in the second quarter. The ejection proved controversial, as Brown believed he had been fouled on the initial play, and the second technical was assessed by third official Suyash Mehta rather than crew chief Tyler Ford. Brown remained upset after the game and posted about the incident on social media. Coach Joe Mazzulla defended Brown with a pointed critique of the officiating, using a metaphor about a high school principal making independent decisions. Mazzulla expressed full support for Brown, stating he understood Brown's frustration completely and backed him entirely. Boston lost the game to San Antonio.
