Jayson Tatum remains noncommittal about returning this season for Celtics
""I'm feeling good," Tatum said. "It was good to be a part of practice yesterday with the Maine G League guys. [Tuesday] is 39 weeks, so it's been a long journey. And it's just like the progression of rehab. It was the next step. Doesn't mean that I'm coming back or I'm not. It's just following the plan. So it's just another step.""
""Mentally it's been tough. It's been exhausting," Tatum said. "I can't stress it enough, it's been 39 weeks. It's been a lot of different phases throughout this process. But, the organization has been there to support me, friends, family, the whole nine. I've had a lot of support throughout this.""
Jayson Tatum took part in practice with the Maine Celtics as part of his recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon sustained in May 2025. He reached 39 weeks into rehabilitation and described the session as the next step in a long progression without promising a return during the 2025-26 season. Tatum has been ahead of schedule at times, posting dunk videos and holding a public workout. He called the process mentally exhausting and credited the organization, friends, and family for support. He remained a regular presence at games and team activities while sidelined.
