Jaylen Brown honors Bill Nye at Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony
"My love for science runs deep, and I have Bill to thank for that,"
"But not just for myself - for a generation of students who grew up in the public school system, possibly thinking that school was not for them. Bill was the bright spot in all of our day. When they rolled that TV out with the trolley, we knew what time it was."
"So, Bill, this Walk of Fame is not just for an incredible career. It's also for the curiosity you spark, the doors you've opened, and the minds you continue to inspire all over the globe,"
"Thank you from a generation of students who grew up watching you, listening to your voice. Thank you for changing the world, one dad joke and one science experiment at a time. Give it up for Bill."
Bill Nye received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was honored during a ceremony with a tribute from Celtics star Jaylen Brown. Brown credited Nye with making learning fun and inspiring his own love of science as well as that of many public school students. Brown recalled the ritual of rolling out the TV trolley and described Nye as a bright spot for students. Brown met Nye in person after posting about the desire to meet him, and he noted Nye's Emmy success and ongoing impact on curiosity and education worldwide.
