Jaylen Brown has conversation with Dana White as he toys with idea of future career in UFC after NBA
""To be honest, I've toyed with this and I've talked to some people," Brown said. "Maybe post part of my career, I'd love to partake in something like UFC or even boxing. I've talked to Dana White about some stuff, but we'll see as things go on. We'll see.""
""He's ... training at the [UFC PI], the last couple days he was over there working on his Muay Thai," White said. "I think it's awesome these guys want to try and fight.""
"According to ESPN's Brett Okamoto, White thought Brown was "messing" with him at first. But there appears to be some "serious" interest from Brown in the sport, according to the report."
Jaylen Brown, 29, has three years remaining on a supermax contract and is contemplating professional fighting after his basketball career. He has discussed competing in boxing or the UFC and has talked with Dana White about possibilities. Brown has trained at the UFC Performance Institute and worked on Muay Thai. UFC leadership initially thought he was joking but acknowledged his training and interest. Brown is averaging a career-high 29.3 points per game on 48.3 percent shooting. The Celtics are second in the Eastern Conference without Jayson Tatum. Brown also streams on Twitch with guests like Bill Nye and IShowSpeed.
