Jaylen Brown fined $35,000 by NBA after ripping officials following loss to Spurs
"I don't care, they can fine me whatever they want but it's crazy. Every time we play a good team it's the same [expletive]."
"Somebody please pull up the clips. I'm irate at the officiating of the game today. If we can't get to the free-throw line and teams are allowed to be physical and bump us off of our spots and et cetera, then its hard to win games like that."
""We play hard," Brown later said. "We are outplaying our expectations, we compete hard on the defensive end and they reward the team with touch fouls and we go down there and guys are allowed to get away with - I hope somebody please pulls it up. Every time we play a good team, the inconsistency is crazy.""
Jaylen Brown criticized officiating following Boston's 100-95 loss to San Antonio, calling referees terrible and the calls inconsistent. Brown scored 27 points and collected eight rebounds while attempting zero free throws despite taking 28 shots. The Celtics attempted only four free throws as a team, the second-lowest single-game total in franchise history, while the Spurs attempted 20. Brown said opponents were allowed to be physical, bump players off spots and draw touch fouls, making wins difficult. The NBA fined Brown $35,000 for public criticism of officiating. Brown said he would accept the fine but remained irate about the inconsistency.
