Despite foul trouble, Celtics kept control of the boards in Game 1
"I thought [Vucevic] was great tonight at the things we expected of him. He took some open shots, but he protected the rim. He kept Drummond and Bona off the glass so that the other guys were responsible for getting rebounds."
"It's somewhat tricky when you go to help and get caught in between and they get a step on you. Bona is really active on the glass, he moves around a lot. He's bouncy. Drummond is really strong, he uses more of his strength."
The Celtics secured a 123-91 victory over the 76ers, out-rebounding them 43-40 despite early foul trouble. Jayson Tatum led with 11 rebounds, while Sam Hauser contributed seven. Coach Joe Mazzulla praised the team's effort, particularly Nikola Vucevic's performance in protecting the rim and limiting Drummond and Bona's effectiveness. Vucevic emphasized the importance of aggressiveness and adapting to opponents' skills to maintain control under the basket.
