Joe Mazzulla has been named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for March, marking the fourth time in his head-coaching career with the Celtics. Boston finished March with a remarkable 14-1 record, including a perfect 8-0 road run. Despite injuries to star player Jayson Tatum, Mazzulla's strategies led to a franchise-record 6-0 road trip and the highest net rating in the Eastern Conference. Defensive improvements also emerged, as Boston allowed only 107.7 points per game, positioning the team strongly for the playoffs.
With Boston dealing with injuries to Jayson Tatum and an extended road trip in March, Mazzulla and the Celtics rose to the occasion. The Celtics boasted the highest net rating in the Eastern Conference in March (11.6), while also setting a new franchise record by going 6-0 on a single road trip for the first time ever.
This marks the second straight year where Mazzulla has taken home Coach of the Month honors in March, as he also had the Celtics on a roll entering their eventual run to an 18th championship in June of last year.
