"Jeremy Swayman made 39 saves - 18 in the third period - and the B's got a pair of goals from Alex Steeves to sweep the season series with the Islanders with a 3-1 victory. The B's managed just 14 shots, but three of them found the back of the net. And with Swayman doing his thing, that was more than enough. They didn't even need a goal from Morgan Geekie."
"He inserted Matej Blumel to recreate the Czech line with David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha and made a second line of Geekie, Elias Lindholm and Marat Khusnutdinov. It didn't last long. The Islanders took the first lead of the game at 4:41. Skating through the neutral zone, Blumel's soft dump-in was gloved down by Matthew Schaefer and the Islanders went back on the attack."
The Bruins defeated the New York Islanders 3-1, sweeping the season series behind Jeremy Swayman's 39 saves, including 18 in the third period. Alex Steeves scored twice, and the team converted three goals from just 14 shots. Coach Marco Sturm adjusted lines, inserting Matej Blumel alongside David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha and moving Geekie with Elias Lindholm and Marat Khusnutdinov, but Blumel exited early with a lower-body injury. The Islanders opened the scoring when Mathew Barzal beat Swayman at 4:41. A fourth-line sequence by Sean Kuraly, Mikey Eyssimont and Steeves produced the equalizer at 6:23. The trip finished 2-2.
