Charlie Coyle, a Weymouth native, played parts of six seasons with the Boston Bruins after arriving in a midseason 2019 trade and was traded away earlier in 2025 before moving again to the Blue Jackets during the NHL Draft. Coyle posted on Instagram thanking Boston fans, saying playing for the Bruins fulfilled a lifelong dream and allowed him to play at home in front of family and friends. He thanked many people who helped shape and support him and said he will carry great memories for the rest of his life. Coyle recorded 16 points in 24 playoff games during the Bruins' run to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final and posted a 25-goal, 35-assist season in 2023-2024.
