Frederik Andersen recorded a shutout until midway through the third, following the death of his agent and former NHL player Claude Lemieux by suicide the prior day. Carolina swept the first two rounds, then rebounded from a 6-2 Game 1 loss after an extended break to win four straight, including a run of 10 straight goals from Andrei Svechnikov’s overtime goal in Game 3 until Cole Caufield’s power-play goal midway through the third.
