"We talked before the game that this game was huge,"
"This was a really important game. Obviously everybody knows our team - we've been a little bit of up and down. And we talked about the importance of this game and not creating a losing streak."
"Something where we're trying to dig our way out of, like we have been. So I think we came out strong - special teams were great, and it was really important for us to capitalize on home ice."
Boston opened strongly with three first-period goals in 54 seconds and secured a 4-3 victory over Vegas at TD Garden. A double minor for high-sticking on Tomas Hertl created a power play nine minutes into the game. Charlie McAvoy scored 11 seconds into the power play on a one-timer from David Pastrnak, Elias Lindholm scored 30 seconds later following a crisp passing sequence, and Tanner Jeannot completed the rapid trio. The three-goal burst was Boston's fastest since Dec. 20, 2001. Strong special teams and home-ice execution helped Boston rebound from a 6-2 loss and improve to nine wins in 11 games.
