"We were in LA and we all had the day off the next day. We all went out to a karaoke bar, just a team bonding thing. I just closed it down with some Frank Sinatra karaoke. I'd never done it for karaoke before but I've always had it in my back pocket and one night I just decided to pull it out."
"Oh yeah, I'm a big fan of the Rat Pack, old Vegas, those old movies, the Golden Age of Hollywood, just a fan of nostalgic, analog-type of things. I think coming around Christmas time, it's definitely part of the energy I was around growing up. Sometimes those songs are reminiscent of the holiday season. You're kind of always chasing that as you get older and you just appreciate it more...."
Mikey Eyssimont arrived in Boston bringing high energy, feistiness and occasional timely goals. He introduced "That's Life" as the Bruins' new victory song, played loudly in the Garden dressing room after wins. The idea began during a team outing in Los Angeles when Eyssimont performed Frank Sinatra at karaoke and teammates embraced the moment. Eyssimont expresses a deep appreciation for Rat Pack-era music, old Vegas, Golden Age Hollywood and nostalgic, analog experiences learned from his father's record player. He and his fiance enjoy those records at home, especially around the holiday season.
