"The most recent loss to the Florida Panthers was difficult for all the Bruins, what with the winning goal against coming on a fluke bounce with 25.7 seconds. But it was an especially difficult night for Mason Lohrei. In the 4-3 loss, the lanky defenseman wasn't involved in the GWG but he had a big hand in two of the goals. He knew it. His coach certainly knew it - and voiced it in the post-game press conference as well."
"On the first goal in question, Lohrei could have gotten a little more help from Tanner Jeannot in tying up Jonah Gadjovich's stick, but AJ Greer beat Lohrei to the loose puck and then Jeremy Swayman to the shortside. The second one midway through the third period was worse, as Eetu Luostarinen overpowered him on his way to the net for the goal."
""All you can do is really wake up the next day and kind of flush, pick yourself up and do what you can to regain confidence and go back at it," said Lohrei."
Boston lost 4-3 to the Florida Panthers after a fluke bounce produced the winning goal with 25.7 seconds remaining. Mason Lohrei played a significant role in two earlier goals, including being beaten to a loose puck on one play and being overpowered by Eetu Luostarinen en route to another. Lohrei is 24 and has 126 NHL games of experience. The Bruins and coaching staff have emphasized improving his defensive play while retaining offensive strengths. Lohrei says he focuses on shaking off bad games, regaining confidence, and continuing to work. Coach Marco Sturm is simplifying Lohrei's game and acknowledges ongoing imperfections.
