Bruins notebook: Jordan Harris making the most of his chance
"The Bruins played their second game without Hampus Lindholm (lower body, day-to-day), but his replacement Jordan Harris has not let them miss him too much. After setting up Pavel Zacha for a goal in the B's 3-1 win over Buffalo on Saturday, the Haverhill native's first goal as a Bruin on Monday helped keep the B's in the game, though they would eventually lose to the Tampa Bay Lightning, 4-3."
""He had a really good game last game and today he was solid again. I can't really say anything bad about him. He works and does his job," said coach Marco Sturm. Harris played 16:59 on Monday, landing four shots on net, the most of any Bruin defenseman. After having played in Montreal and Columbus, the 25-year-old defenseman is enjoying his time on Causeway Street, where he's played many times before with Northeastern and as a visitor in the NHL."
""It's so cool," said Harris. "It's hard to kind of describe, the feeling of being on the ice and the loudness of the building and the excitement and everything. There's not really another place like it. It's a lot better being on this side of it than being an opponent. It's a lot of fun and really special. My family's been able to come, so to share that with them is really cool.""
Harris filled in for Hampus Lindholm, who remained day-to-day with a lower-body issue. Harris assisted Pavel Zacha in a 3-1 win over Buffalo and scored his first Bruins goal in a 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay. Coach Marco Sturm praised Harris's consistent work and play. Harris skated 16:59, led Bruins defensemen with four shots on goal, and previously played in Montreal and Columbus. Harris said playing at Causeway Street with family present felt special. On his goal, David Pastrnak chipped the puck to Harris after Erik Cernak failed to keep it in, and Harris finished on a 2-on-1.
