Charlie McAvoy missed 10 games after taking a slap shot to the face on Nov. 15 and required facial surgery. McAvoy has resumed skating, wore a full cage at practice, lost about 20 pounds after the injury and reports he is regaining strength and weight with roughly half the recovery remaining. David Pastrnak missed five games after an injury on Nov. 26 and skated in a red non-contact jersey while recovering; the ailment is unrelated to earlier knee tendinitis. Both players will travel with the team and are expected to return to game action during the upcoming road trip.
