The 2010-11 Boston Bruins overcame adversity and painful playoff setbacks to win the franchise's first Stanley Cup in 39 years, forging a lasting team bond. Zdeno Chara had his No. 33 retired to the rafters at TD Garden during a ceremony before a game against the Seattle Kraken. Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Mark Recchi, Tim Thomas, Tuukka Rask, Dennis Seidenberg, Adam McQuaid and Andrew Ference were among the 2011 teammates in attendance, and five players carried Chara's banner onto the ice. Chara spent 14 seasons with Boston and emphasized that championships raise recognition, extend careers and create dynasties.
