Woman arrested for alleged attempted carjacking in Dorchester

"A Boston woman was arrested Tuesday for attempting a carjacking in Dorchester while armed with a knife, according to police. Jenisteen Tomlinson, 31, was taken into custody at about 5:30 p.m. after officers responded to a report of an armed robbery near 1102 Blue Hill Ave., police said in a statement. Tomlinson had allegedly attempted to rob a man and steal a vehicle with a knife in hand."

"Officers learned that the alleged victim was working on a vehicle's brakes when Tomlinson entered the driver's seat, according to police. When he tried to remove her, she attempted to drive off and struck another vehicle in front of her. Tomlinson then got out of the vehicle and allegedly swung the knife at the victim before fleeing toward Ashton Street, police said. A short time later, officers found her near 67 Woodrow Ave. and arrested her."

"Police later discovered that Tomlinson was involved in a separate incident minutes earlier at 1112 Blue Hill Ave., according to the statement. She allegedly attempted to rob a convenience store with a knife, brandished the knife at a victim when confronted, and fled toward Ansel Road. For the two alleged incidents, Tomlinson is facing one count of armed carjacking, one count of armed robbery, and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, court records show."

Officers located and arrested her near Woodrow Ave. Police say Tomlinson was also involved minutes earlier in an attempted convenience store robbery at 1112 Blue Hill Ave., where she brandished a knife. She faces armed carjacking, armed robbery, and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, pleaded not guilty, and was held on $2,500 bail.
