Austin Riley hit a three-run homer and the Atlanta Braves defeated the Boston Red Sox 8-1. Grant Holmes pitched six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and one walk on 87 pitches. Atlanta jumped ahead 5-0 in the first two innings against Brayan Bello, who struggled again as a starter. Mike Yastrzemski added a leadoff homer in the fourth, and Riley doubled in the fifth before scoring on Dominic Smith’s single to make it 7-0. Reynaldo López added two scoreless innings, and Tyler Kinley allowed Boston’s lone run in the ninth. A brief rain delay occurred in the sixth, and Carlos Narváez was removed due to finger pain.
