Rachael Rollins confirmed she is running for Suffolk County district attorney, turning in nomination papers after collecting 1,606 certified signatures across Boston, Chelsea, Winthrop, and Revere. Candidates needed at least 1,000 signatures from residents and had to submit them to the secretary of state by Tuesday. Rollins said the effort would bring the DA’s office back to the community with openness and transparency, rejecting an “invite only” approach. Kevin Hayden and Linda Champion also cleared the certified signature threshold. Rollins had been teasing a comeback since early April, including launching a podcast. She previously declined to address critics and the ethics-related scandals that led to her 2023 resignation as U.S. attorney.
