A tragic incident occurred early Monday morning in West Roxbury when a person was struck and killed by a commuter rail train. Police responded promptly to the scene near the MBTA's West Roxbury station shortly after 5:27 a.m. The individual was pronounced dead on the spot, but their identity has not yet been disclosed. Consequently, shuttle buses replaced rail services on the Needham Line, impacting transportation during the morning commute. Normal service was restored around 9:30 a.m.
A person died early Monday morning after, authorities say, they were struck by a train in West Roxbury. Boston police said officers responded to the area of 450 Lagrange St.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Authorities did not release the person's name.
As a result of the incident, shuttle buses replaced rail service on the Needham Line between Needham Heights and Forest Hills during the morning rush.
Regular service resumed around 9:30 a.m., following the tragic incident involving a commuter rail train.
