N.H. man killed his mother in murder-suicide, officials say

Autopsy results confirm that Eileen Shevelin, 78, was killed by her son Thomas Wallace, 57, in a murder-suicide in Dover, New Hampshire. The two lived together on Dover Point Road. Investigators determined that Wallace killed Shevelin at some point on either May 25 or May 26 in their shared home, before dying by suicide. Shevelin died by asphyxiation, and her death was ruled a homicide. Wallace’s death was ruled suicide due to a gunshot wound to the head. Police discovered both bodies on Tuesday during a follow-up welfare check. Officials do not expect further information, and the family requested privacy.

"Autopsy results released on Wednesday confirm Eileen Shevelin, 78, was killed by her son Thomas Wallace, 57, in a murder-suicide, New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella and Dover Police Chief David Terlemezian said in a joint press release Wednesday."
