A New Jersey community gathered at Fellowship Columbia Bank Field to support 12-year-old Xavier Taylor, who remains in critical condition after being injured during baseball warmups. Family members said a ball struck his neck on Tuesday, and he was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where he is in the intensive care unit. Hundreds of friends, neighbors, and teammates returned for a prayer vigil featuring music, candles, and messages of hope, with many wearing shirts showing Xavier’s number 6. Speakers emphasized teamwork, showing up for one another, and never giving up. The family thanked the community and said their goal is for Xavier to return to the field. A meal train was organized and more than $60,000 was raised to help the family.
"The Taylor family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support as they remain focused on Xavier's recovery. "I could not have asked or ever dreamt of support like this right now, but our end goal is for our son to be back on this field or whatever field is next destined for him," Greg Taylor said."
