A man unlawfully gained entry into part of the Dorchester Fields Corner MBTA station early Saturday. Transit Police said he was not inside the elevator shaft but trapped between the shaft and the outside wall. He claimed to be homeless and seeking a place to sleep. Firefighters removed him at about 3:30 p.m. after hours of being stuck. The man was not named and is expected to face a trespassing charge. Witnesses reported loud banging and said he claimed he had been stuck for as long as three days.
"The man "unlawfully gained entry" into part of the Dorchester station early on Saturday, Transit Police Supt. Richard Sullivan said in a statement. Firefighters removed him hours later, at about 3:30 p.m. "He claimed to be homeless seeking a place to sleep," Sullivan explained. "It is my understanding he was not inside the elevator shaft but rather between the shaft and outside wall.""
"Sullivan did not name the man, who is expected to face a trespassing charge. The incident was first reported by WCVB, which said witnesses at the scene called for assistance after hearing a loud banging Saturday afternoon. The witnesses also told WCVB the man claimed he had been stuck in the shaft for as long as three days."
