Transitioning from Boston to Denver and then to Seattle has shaped a renewed understanding of personal belonging. While initially excited by new environments, feelings of homesickness intensified with thoughts of family and future responsibilities. The realization emerged that Boston offers a deeper connection to family and memories, outweighing a desire for new experiences. The journey through various cities revealed valuable life lessons, ultimately solidifying the desire to return home for those crucial life steps, such as starting a family and supporting aging parents.
After living in Denver and now Seattle, I'm realizing as I get older that I want to be closer to my family and friends, most of whom are on the East Coast.
I thought I was looking for that perfect place to settle down and call home. It turns out I was just gathering life lessons and finding new reasons to appreciate where I grew up.
