Five teenagers allegedly attacked a 35-year-old man during a late-night screening of the horror film "Weapons" at AMC Boston Common 19 around 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 14. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Thiago Rentz, a Harvard researcher from Brazil, suffered a bloodied face and a minor nose injury. Rentz said he asked the group to be quiet and sought a manager after repeated disturbances, but theater staff did not address the situation and doors were found locked when officers arrived. The teens allegedly blocked exits, punched Rentz, then fled; Boston police are asking the public to help identify the suspects. Rentz declined transport after evaluation by Boston EMS.
They were there disturbing all of the people, clapping and screaming all the time,
I asked them for respect. I asked them to leave the theater because we just wanted to watch the movie.
I didn't fight back. I was, like, scared and then I just faced the wall, and I just protected my face and my head.
